My first thread. I'm not sure this is the right place to post it but I figured it would be seen by the most here...
Just finished a gully-washer of a downpour here in North Reno. Walked outside to shammy the coupe.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat!?!?!?
Can anyone tell me how to keep this from re-occurring. I've got the CorrosionX/RejeX pack coming to help seal my Black Chrome letters from Willfulone, will that work?

Have you never WASHED it before? Happens every time you wash it.

"Every time I wash my car, I put the car on jackstands and remove the rotors and carefully place them in individual padded silk bags. Once the car is washed, I get my handling gloves on, and simply reinstall them. Easy."

Wash it?? (lol) I've noticed a little rust in the counter-sunk areas but for the most part, no.
I've had these rotors on for about 1500 miles and never really seen any of significance.

Is there a CF vendor that sells the padded silk bags??
Doesn't matter, normal brakes will ALWAYS show rust on the firepath. Whatever coating the brakes have will be burned off by the pads too... just like the rust will. My cadmium coated Powerslot rotors do the same thing. The coating does keep the hats and vanes from rusting though (non-contact areas)
They are completely clean by the time I reach the end of my street after braking a couple times. Don't worry about it!

Thanks Jake! I appreciate the info.
This forum has dramatically increased my learning curve on maintaining and enjoying my C5!! Thanks to all!
after washing i always drive ours around the block before drying wheels . then just wipe up rusty h2o .
Thanks Duane.
Never noticed any significant rust before when drying my coupe. Maybe the car washing fluid has something to do with it. Walking outside after that downpour just caught me off guard. That color in the sun kinda sparks an idea though; does anybody know if anodizing would work for rotor discs and what anodized rotors would look like?
