If my vette is out at 1 in the morning, I would like the LEOs to pay attention to it... It just might be stolen one day, and they might just catch the sob that did it.

It's called being conscious of guilt --- you think the police are following you because of all the times you've broken laws and gotten away with it. Now you know you have "bad habits" (we all do) and you think the police are behind you, waiting for you to screw up... when in actuality, they just happen to be driving in the same direction you were.

Or maybe he was running your plate to see if the car was stolen or there was a warrant attached to your car.

Police have the right to drive behind you --- not because you put out a bad vibe or something like that --- but maybe the route you're taking is the same one they're driving on the way to call or something. Get over it --- it's not "harrassment" --- you didn't even get stopped and I still feel like you're complaining about nothing.

If you don't do anything wrong, you won't get stopped.

Yes it is because you are young and he is jealous?!?! All cops can see inside of cars @ 1:00 A.M. He saw that you were young and thought you must have stole the car. Get real.

GUARANTEED! I get this all the time, finally i told a cop to give me a dwb. Driving while black. It's rediculous, they love to follow and wait for something.. who knows, but then again cops in my town have nothing better to do.

Wifey and I took the C6Z to nearby Pueblo for dinner the other night (35 miles away)....On the way back home a couple troopers had a car stopped at the outskirts of Pueblo.....As soon as we drove by I noticed the "backup" car pull out and start following us..I guess when he saw that black BEAST go by he didnt think Id be able to "behave" once I got out to the outskirts of town where it opened up into a nice wide 4 lane.....He stayed quite a ways back, but I knew he was there (My Escort kept reminding me!!!)....There's a LONG open stretch about 5 miles out of town that Im sure he was POSITIVE I was gonna HAMMER DOWN once I got to it......By then he was way back there, but I knew if I nailed it he would be on my butt in a heartbeat (if I wanted to let him that is).....So I just set the cruise at 70 (65 zone) until I saw him whip a U and head back to Pueblo.....Naturally, I took the cruise off and went about my merry way (I HATE driving with cruise control)....
Could have been the same trooper that nailed wifey a few months ago (she got a deferred sentence BTW...no points, just a $150 fine)...

Anyway, I certainly hope his partner didnt need him as a back-up while he was trailing me hoping for that tremendous blast of speed that never materialized!!!!

Yes, and if they don't follow me, I see them turn their heads just to get a second look at me too.

No it won't.

But then again it might be the long tube headers and SLP Loudmouth that draws their attention.

I came to a complete stop and made a right turn, and then another right into a parking lot that connects to a gas station as i needed fuel... He's still following me so I'm like wtf this is harassment, and i guess he turned off somewhere and tried to hide. Is it because I'm young and drive a corvette? I never thought that it would put out a bad vibe in any way so I don't understand why it is like this...

Not knowing what the officer was thinking, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt ........... you state that most of them know you and you didn't state whether he was one of them or not and you have a good reputation.

Not knowing your habits, but maybe it was one that knew you, maybe you don't drive the vette much after certain hours, he seen your vette out at an usual time ........... followed until he could ID you as the driver owner ???????????? This is only an educated guess, for you did not state it was a habit of them following you.

Many LEO officers will concentrate on high $$$$$ dollars at night, #1 - we enjoy the vehicles and like to see them. #2 - in my day corvettes and young folk did not add to being equal ......... to high price car for a young man to offend back then and #3 Corvettes are high on the list for stolen vehicles. Now days the LEO can run the license plate and then if the car is registered to the young driver, he has a name & DL number to pull up a DL ...... dates of birth are on the DL's.

I used to follow until they pulled in somewhere, then I would stop and talk to them and get to look there car over. Many of these guys wished they were driving your vette and you were driving their patrol vehicle.

I had this happen last night as I was coming from my Mechanics house and he lives about 10 miles north of San Antonio. I left his house about 10:30 pm and since I live in the suburbs I have a nice drive of 25 miles from his house to ours. About halfway home I go through the little City of Garden Ridge, average house price 400K and the cops are always on the side of the road with Ka waiting. As usual when I go through I am doing the speed limit and after cresting a hill in a 55 mph and my hud was cc on 54 my escort lit up all at once and 1/4 mile on the left was the local cop. Oh I am an old man 50 and no front plate and tinted windows, so you know the cop can not see me as there are no lights on the sides of the roads as this is really a rural town, with one stop light and only a Stop and Rob. As I pass the cop he decides to follow me and within a 1/2 mile is a 40 mph sign that I was down to 38 mph and slowing to 30 mph on purpose as 1/4 away is the only stop light and it is green, he does not have his radar on, but again mine escort lights up and in the stop and rob is his buddy. He does not follow me and but his buddy still does and the speed limit goes back to 55 mph after the stop light and is 2 miles from the interstate. So I decide to hypermile down to 50 mph with the cruise on and he is on my butt so after a 1/4 of this I tapped my brake lights and he then backed off and I slowed to 45 mph until I got to the freeway. He did not pull me over and I had fun knowing he was behind me and waiting for me to screw up

That was not the most fun I had this evening after I got on the closed road and I was practing my hyper mile to the best, a new GT500 came up on my left and he wanted some of this Vette and of course on this closed road I wondered did he not read my license plate I know the cop did (SICK HP), well as I shifted down to 4th at a mere 60mph I hit the throttle and the flashers at the same time and he was toast and when I got to ### it was time to slow down and he did not approach, love those closed course runs
