Default Intake Manifold

Hey guys I just picked up a 2002 with a 350 and was wondering if GM supplied their own intake manifolds on these cars. Mine has a Weiand chrome manifold on it and wanted to know if these were standard issue. Haven't owned a Vette since 79' so I'm not up to date on the later models. Thanks in advance!

Intake manifold on LS engines is ABS plastic (black). If you have anything else, its not stock. Yours being a 2002 would have come with the same one used on an LS6 which yielded better performance than the older style.

The chrome Weiand is NOT GM issue. Sounds like the previous owner did some upgrades to the engine. Show us a pic ot two.

Have the heads and cam been swapped out as well? Did you get a list of mods the previous owner performed?

I agree. That intake is not stock. Wonder what else the prior owner changed out since the intake is usually not the first or only modification that someone does.

Weiand was not a factory manifold on the C5. Someone did an aftermarket install for you.

Stock LS1 intake manifold is like trying to breath heavy running with a straw in your mouth to pull air through!

You got a better one now. And its prettier!

Unless you are one of those nuts who just has to ahve the car bone stock because you believe in 2073 you car will sell on barret jackson for big bucks... STICK to the upgrades :-)

Bought the car from a dealer who I'm sure doesn't know what mods were done to the car. Entire engine bay was covered in chrome even the underhood insulation was a chrome piece which I had the dealer take off and replace with the stock piece. Also has a corsa cat back exhaust. Heads have corvette valve covers on them so kinda hard to tell about the heads. Haven't gotten under the car yet but I guess thats next.
