Doug, you're killing me. I just put my LSD hinges on with Gary B.'s help. I love them and the way they are made. They are reversable and no problems once mounted and adjusted properly. You can open them normally as well. To each his own as they say. I have always liked the way they look on a Corvette. Go for it if you like the car.
but I personally don't think lambo doors don't belong on a Vette, but that is just my opinion. Just like fixed headlights don't belong on a Vette but that is another debate......
Be careful if they are made by anyone other than Vertical Doors. They are vigorously defending their patent, and filing suit against everyone. My wife just served on Federal jury where they were the plaintiff. The jury decided in their favor and awarded damages. There might soon be no service support or parts if they are made by anyone else.
But the car that im looking at online at the auction site has them.. The car has every other mod that im looking for and is really clean..
Does anyone else have them? Are there any structural issues involved with this mod?
He says you can still open the doors to a certain point before they raise so I guess you can still get in and out of the car like normal without looking like a teenager in LA.
who else has these?
I have them on my vette, and a few others friends of mine also have them on there vettes, always a show stopper and win many car shows.
As far as I know the VERTICAL DOOR kit is reversible. The LSD kit is also reversible.
I am thinking about them because you can use them normally but raise them at shows. A car with Lambo doors at a car show gets a lot of attention and trophys even if the car itself isn't so great.
If you don't want them, take 'em off and sell 'em.
