Very cool idea. I have a question for you though. I have seen some of the metal ones rub on the bottom of the door. Is there enough room for the 1/4" plexi you have? I haven't looked myself, that's why I am asking.
I tested with an an extra piece of 1/4" plexi. it cleared it easily. I believe there's about 3/8" clearance. I am however giving thought to using 1/8" duraplex to get the full 26". it will be easier to work with because it's more like lexan than plexiglass.

Any lawyers on the CF want to represent me?

I'm going to try a 24" long. I can't seem to find anyone that sells 1/4" plexi for less then 48" and more than 24" Since the door sill area is only 27" of flat surface, 1.5" on each side shouldn't be too strange looking.
