c5 A/C Compressor

My 2001 c5 which I bought used and had a noisy compressor from the day I bought it, came with a new compressor that the old owner never installed. What is a reputable place to have this installed (dealer, a/c shop, etc) and how much should it cost?

Ask other Vette owners in your area who they recommend. The water pump needs to come off to get access to the compressor, so I would change that as well. Free labor to do it then.

Any decent AC shop should be able to do it for you cheaper than the dealer, however, the dealer has the parts and knowledge to do it right (in most cases). I had my '99's compressor replaced. I price-checked numerous places and got quotes of anywhere from $850 to $1400 which included the price of the compressor. I went with the dealer to be safe and they did a perfect job. It cost me $1350 for them to do it but I had the knowledge that if anything showed up unexpected, I could easily take it back and they would correct whatever issue. There was never a problem with it.
