My advice: Get a $3-5000 car to drive to work and keep your C5. Your insurance will go down if you spread the mileage between the two cars and most of the wear and tear will be on the DD.
I've been buying DDs to compliment my Corvettes since 1979. My first was a 68 Cougar, then a 75 Monte Carlo, etc, etc. My current one is an 89 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo that cost me $4000 in 1997.

But If you're dead set on getting rid of it, try to at least sell some of the parts such as heads and LT's. They won't notice the gears or many of your other mods except for the cam I'm sure depending how aggressive it is.

Good advice. The C5 makes for a very good daily driver and with some caution on parking, you can minimize any potential damage to the car.
Put it up for sale ...... and drive it. Why take a big hit if your not in a bind. Now is the time to sell these cars. A dealer is just going to make you angry or worse. They are there to take advantage of you. Put it on the For sale forum here it doesn't hurt. I wouldn't put it back to stock, it's going to cost as much in labor as you will get for the parts.
I appreciate all the opinions that I was given and after my trip to the dealer lastnight where they offered my $17,500 I am probably gonna post it or around $21,000

Spend the money that you'd loose on the trade-in and get a POS daily driver and that way you can keep your modded Vette which you've obviously put a lot of time and money into!

Just my $0.02
Cheers and good luck with your decision!
It looks like you cared a lot about it at one time to put all that money in it to start with. I don't use mine as a DD; 1. because the rear tires are $300+ each, and 2. I'm afraid I'll hit a deer or some other critter on the country roads.
Solution; I bought a 95 Miata for $2500.00 to use as a DD. It gets 35-37 mpg, and is lots of fun (although not in the same league as a Vette) and literally saved enough money in gas (or in your case the poor trade in) to pay for it in 1 YEAR!)
Keep that puppy!!
