I was talking with my neighbor and mentioned my plans to change over to cross drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads. He told me that the ceramics were a bad idea because they can wear the rotors down faster. Is there any truth to this? I can't recall ever reading about this here. FWIW, I don't track the car and don't require the best of the best; I'm simply looking to reduce (greatly) the brake dust on my wheels. But if ceramics are going to wear my rotors faster, I may want to rethink this.
I have put ceramic on 3 different type of cars and no problem. I put just the same rotors and pads on that you want and best thing I ever did!
You do need to give them about 200 miles to seat in so expect some dust until then. After that it is good, there is always some dust but likely 50-70% improvement.

even if there was slightly more ware with ceramics, id buy mine again in a second. your wheels lookin clean after five days of driving instead of dirty after five minutes of driving is well worth it...and if the rotors wear down all that translates to is time for another mod
