There's almost always two of them.

I often see deer on my way to work in the morning. I'll usually either see one in the road, or, run off the side of the road as I approach, but I continue to slow to a crawl and wait for the other one.
It never fails..a few seconds later, the second will usually jump out of hiding and dart across the road.

I've only ever hit one deer in my life..very lightly in a Jeep I had (no damage to speak of), which is amazing considering how thickly populated they are in this state. I know very few people that haven't hit one around here. My parents in northern WI have hit a half doz (at least) over the years....our truck driver at work takes out 2-3 each year, but I think he aims for them

Be careful out there folks...especially us who like to occasionally tear it up on the rural backroads. Dusk is NOT the best time to do it.

Glad you are okay - sorry to see the car like that. At least you were able to drive it home, some aren't as lucky as you.

I realized that a while later and that's when I decided to have some fun with it.

Curious, for reference, how fast were you traveling when you hit the deer and how much do you think it weighed?

We were doing 50-55mph , some of the guys guessed the deer was around 200lbs or so, I personally didn't go back to look.

Glad you're OK. And as you said, good thing the deer didn't come through the windshield into your lap.

Did anyone have the decency to notify the Deer's next-of-kin?

They may want to make arrangements......

I hope I don't die with my head stuck up a culvert.....

Sorry about your beautiful car man.....I've hit a few deer in different rigs and it never feels good or is good for the vehicle.

My worse animal hit involved a large black bear while taking the family on a vacation to Disney land in...in....in.....Okay..I admit it....I owned a mini van!! The bear ran off and these idiots behind us in a Volvo wondered if we had a flat tire when we finally stopped....you mean you didn't see that f...ing bear roll off our van?? amazing...

good luck on repairs....wish you the best.

Sorry for you and the deer.
Glad you are ok.

This is actually one of my worst fears on my drive to work.
I often see deer on the side of the road and even saw one
run across the road on my way home yesterday afternoon.
I drive to work in the dark and with the wonderful headlights
on the C5 I will at least be able to identify what it is that I'm
about to hit.

Gotta get one of those HID kits...

We got no Deer around here. No Rain, No Snow, No Hail.

Just Sun and Hot this time of year.
