With the prices of our C5's dropping and todays economy do you still think that in the future they can possibbly be worth quite a bit? The C5 inspired the C6 to become the fastest production car to lap the nuremberg afterall! Or do you think that they will just become an outdated looking car as the corvette design keeps improving? Personally I think that it's looks will always make a statement where time stands still.
I think the design still holds up well. While the HP of latest (even base mode) C6 is extremely appealing, I still don't like the look of the C6 as well after all these years.
I admire a clean well kept Corvette no matter what year it is. I have caught myself staring at clean C3s and C4s many times. I think if you love the Corvette that will never change.
I think the C5 holds a very important spot in Corvette history, as it was really a "make or break" situation for GM according to "All Corvettes Are Red"
Nevertheless, in my opinion it is one of the most tastefully designed cars ever made, and I believe people will continue to feel that way for a very long time
I think the C5 will stand up well in the test of time,,but the numbers and it's relatively young age will keep it out of the investment category for a long time. 20 or 30 years it will still have some value and a clean low mileage one will probably fetch a fair price as kids of today will see them much like the baby boomers see C2/C3 vets and muscle cars now!!
If you are holding onto your C5 in the hopes it'll "be worth quite a bit" you are a dreamer. These are fun, exciting to drive sportscars that are NOT appreciating in value. If you want that then buy a rare painting, coin or postage stamp and put it under glass.

I DID buy MINE to drive it,,bought it with 55k already on it,,and I'm running close to 1000 mi a month with only 1 1100 mi trip so far. It's not a stranger to test and tune nights either. Just making a little speculation as to what COULD happen.20 to 30 years I'll be so old I could care less what they are worth and will probably been through a few more vets by that time,,although I have kept my 69 for over 10 years so far and have no intention of selling it ,,its just too much fun as well,,I run the crap out of it as well,,It's not an investment either it's a DRIVER (kind of a mut to the purist)

C5 lines look GOOD....and I expect it to age quite well. $$$$ prob not, but SMILES - many
I haven't seen any unattractive Corvettes. Some peoples idea of beauty as far as mods go might be suspect. The cars by themselves are all beautiful to me. Love em all C1 to 6. They have aged very well.
I sold my C5 coupe in January, and now I'm regretting it.
I stayed away from sitting in a C6 until yesterday, as I didn't want to fall in love with another Vette until I was ready for another sports car. My brother brought one over that he was trying out for a few days. I'm 6'4" and in decent shape, and my C5 was very comfortable with a lot of leg room. The C6 is cramped and I don't fit. My knees hit the dash with the seat all the way back, and there is no way I could drive one and shift.
We went to the dealer who said he could put another seat track in that would gain about 1 1/2" to 2 inches in leg room, but, the seat would not be able to recline. Actually, I don't think the 2" would do it, even if I was willing to sit straight up, which I'm not.
What a shame. I miss my C5. I guess I'll have to look at the Challenger or the Camaro when I get another sports car bug.

I remember all the hype 31 years ago about the C3(I still have my 1977 ) and what a technical breakthrough the C3 was and all these years later mine isn't monitarily worth jack squat but I still love it anyway. I was told back then if I held on to it for 25 years it would be worth a bundle and that turned out to be a bunch of hooey ...Its all original and I can't even get $5k for it>>>bwahahahahah
Love all Corvettes. I really like the C5 design, beautiful flowing lines - and especially how it retained Corvette's legacy for newer drivers to enjoy in the future
I remember coming out of a mall in Atlanta and seeing my first C5 parked in the lot. I fell in love with the lines immediately. I don't care about the value of my coupe as I look down the road. I might own other vettes but the C5 is a keeper.

I bought my C5 last October, friends told me to buy a C6 cause it was the "new" body style. I like the looks of the C5 much more. I made mods like headers, exhaust, air cleaner, wheels, ... more than $5k. I paid $30k for an 04, so for $35k I could have easily got a C6. But the C5 really is a great car, I'd just like more go.
