OK, part of this might sound a little off , but here goes...
My wife misses our old Cobra (mustang) because of the better sounding exhaust. I actually have to agree that stock mustang exhaust sounds pretty good (but needs a little more rumble)
Any suggestions as to how to get almost that sound, whether or not it involves LT or shorty headers, (cats will be used in some form) and cat back exhaust. In the future I have planned minimally a cam upgrade, likely will end up doing heads as well, but that is later, budget permitting...

I agree, my buddy in college had an '03 cobra and stock for stock thats the one area ford does a better job...especially on the stock C5 which imho is a sound travesty on four wheels. and this is why on the seventh day God made B&B Bullets. Put a set on and you'll never miss your cobra again! ive got a corsa X-pipe to go with my quad tip bullets and i love em! you should have seen the expression on my buddies face the first time i started it up after putting em on...his jaw dropped and then he almost ran out of the garage

One thing to be careful of is Cat backs with Drone/Resonance issues. Your wife will not enjoy hearing the Drone on a cat back let me tell you !
I have been thru many different exhaust over the last 3 years (Stock Titanium, B&B Bullets, Corsa Touring, and now GHL Bullets). I have yet to find another exhaust that sounds this deep, and has no resonance. Its a real muscle car sound for sure.
If I knew how the GHL Bullets sounded 3 years ago. I would have had them first and they would still be on my car now.
Here is a video I put together of my car and a friends car comparing the GHL Bullets, and the Borla Stingers. Keep in mind both cars are heads/cam/long tube header cars.
As with anything else.... it comes down to personal taste. Choose what you think will be best for you and your wife !

Can you purchase the GHL mufflers only, or does it come in a catback system? If you don't mind me asking how much $ ?
Steve
I had a Cobra, too; an '01 with Magnaflow catback, and otherwise stock exhaust. Much as I like everything else better on my Corvette, the Cobra sounded better. I've had 4 different catbacks, and no matter what, it will never sound as good as the quad-cam Cobra with Magnaflows. I figure it's a small price to pay for a FAR superior performance car, that's way easier to mod.

Great sounding cars. I love the plates on the vert. I can't believe that the DMV let him get away with that one......especially in Virginia where they write 2000.00 speeding tickets!

You noticed were were in Plano huh ? It was actually funny though. We were playing a bit on the HW (nothing crazy), and our other friend was 10 cars ahead of us with his laser detector going nuts! We were seconds from being busted, but the cop noticed our friend out in front first (yellow vert). The cop started to follow HIM... He did not even see us....
