Default Will your stock bose unit play CDs you burn on your PC? (In .wav format)

Just curious if you can burn your own CDs and play them on a stock unit.

Thanks

I keep all my music stored on an external hard drive and when i got the car i burned off 12 disks for the changer. Some were mp3 others wma/wave etc and all of them have worked fine. So yes, you should be good to go.

Yes, but I have noticed with some older PC's that have slower processors and bus rates with less than 1024meg(1G) of ram, you really have to slow down the write speed of the CD recorder to ensure a cleaner burn.

Thats just a general rule no matter how fast the computer. I always burn on the slowest setting. Unless your in a hurry to get it done why not slow it down and get better quality?

Actually, the standard cd head doesn't play mp3, wavs, ogg, or any other data format. What happens is when you burn an audio cd, the software converts it to pcm format which is what standard cd players read. Thats why it's important to select "audio cd" instead of "data" cd in the burning software. If you burn out of itunes it just makes the selection behind the scenes invisible.

.WAV files are recognized by Delco products

same here.

As long as the CD is mastered as an "Audio CD" (and not just simply a CD-ROM disk with a bunch of files copied to it) it will play. And I also will not burn any faster than an 8x rate for audio CD's.

Sorry, I stand corrected. The above was my stock answer when people can't get burnt cd's to play. Burning them as "audio/pcm" ensures they'll play on anything though.

Default Nothing works

After I burned mine, I tried to play them in my '03 and they wouldn't work. I posted a question here and got all of these answers, tried all the solutions and still nothing. Now even my "purchased" CD's won't work. Took my burned ones to a friends '04 and they work fine. I guess the Delco crapped out.

I experience that with some of my discs I've burned. I've tried different software, different speeds, different computers, etc. Can't figure it out.
