I was pulling into the parking garage at work this morning, coming around a turn, and had to get on the brakes pretty hard because the car in front of me stopped short. I felt this shuddering/rumbling in the brakes for a short second before coming to a stop. There was no shortage of stopping power, just a strange vibration that I have not felt before.
This is probably the hardest I've been on the brakes since getting the car, and I was wondering if this was something with vette brakes, or if I should have it looked at? There was no problems with the actual braking/stopping, and I couldn't reproduce it afterwards, but I don't want to mess around with something like this, could be very harmful to my health.
Haven't had a chance to really check it out, since I've been busy with work all morning, but I'm hoping for some time during lunch.
Sounds like your ABS kicked in. Did it feel like they were kinda pulsating? First time you feel it it is strange, that is supposed to happen don't worry about it. If you are ever driving in snow or ice you will appreciate it!

Good point...my only experience with ABS has been the supposed ABS on my old jeep wrangler locking up tires and bringing me to screeching halts.
