I just got pulled over for effing off with a radom guy in a beater car, the first light him and his girl antagonized me, and I ran it "kinda" hard on them, not even half throttle... no wheels chirping, nothing, just giving them the finger, then at the second light, we chatted, and he chirped his wheels again, making them peel out, and AFTER he was in front of me, I gave it "some"gas and "woo woo woo " cop,.... bah, pissed off I pulled into a parking lot very nearby, turned the car off...
He, cranky, dug around for a VERY LONG time, and found ANYTHING he could wrong with the car, registration, licence plates, whatever the ****.
He ultimately wrote me a ticket for:
1- No Front Licence Plate (State of TX)
2- Failure to Maintain Control (yet I did not hit anyone, or lose control)
3- Failure to notify DPS of adress change. (I've recently moved to Houston Texas)

From what I can make of you post it looks like you were playing (racing) on the street. Not something that's condoned on this forum. Pay your tickets and keep it legal on the street.
you can always request your day in court...if you believe you can present yourself in a compelling way to sway the judge...you may get your ticket tossed or reduced..
So you were screwing around, didn't see the cop, and got busted. I guess the old adage, "You play, you pay," is true. This probably isn't the best place to post your reckless driving story, sorry. By the way, I think the ticket for loss of control doesn't hinge on you actually losing control of the car.
I did, however, like the cops name. No wonder he was pissy.

Well, being a TX LEO, I think you got off lucky. He could have arrested you for racing, which is county charge now, you could spend a year in the county jail. I would suggest taking defensive driving for the failure to maintain control, it won't go onto your record, just a defensive driving school (plus you get that 15% discount on your insurance for the next 3 years). If you don't want to go take a class, ask for deferred adjudication. The court will place you on probabtion for 90 days, and if you don't get another ticket, it will go away. For the drivers license citation, go online with the TX DPS and update your drivers license, you'll get it back within 2 weeks, and show the court you updated it. The court possibly will dismiss that one, and just pay the license plate ticket. The drivers license and license plate are not moving violations, so they will not go onto your driving record. Like the previous post, "you play you pay", and don't blame the cop for your mistake, he was doing his job. Have a great day!
