Default Telescopic Steering Probs

I first posted this in the Tech section w/ no responses so I'll try here now.

Having a prob w/ my telescoping steering wheel SW. won't work going back in and sometimes going out. Have Mem modules 1 & 2 w/ #1 programed for the driver. Sometimes this works, sometimes not. If I move the power seat forward or back then try the memory SW. it might work on occasion.

Also, while driving, the steering wheel might just go back in automatically then I can't bring it back out.

Got numerous codes and they were all History codes except for the following which were History as well as Current.

A6-SCM code B2852 H C Telescoping column In Switch Shorted to Ground

28TCS code C1242 HC Magnasteer Malfunction

I can't clear either of these codes.
Anyone have these problems and just what in heck does it mean by Magnasteer Malfunction?

Any and all help is really appreciated guys!

I did see some posts a while back that were similar - if I recall the problem was a chaffed wire under the seat which was shorting to the seat frame. Since you said the symptom can change when you move the seat - it may be worth taking a look.

Locate the blue 7-pin connector under the driver's seat that connects the seat to the car. Re-seat this connector a few times and/or clean the contacts on it. Then try the telescoping steering wheel again.

Try this to reset telescoping steering column. May sound crazy, BUT IT WORKS

Resetting the Telescoping Steering Wheel
1) Turn the ignition to the "ON" position but with the engine not running

2) Tap the telescoping button 8 times in the "inward" position then hold the button in the INWARD position for 5 seconds

3) Tap the telescoping button 8 times in the "outward" position then hold the button in the OUTWARD position for 5 seconds
