Default Wait for Carlisle ?

Looking to buy new tires and wheels , plus some other items for my C-5 , Is it worth the wait to shop the vendors at Carlisle for better prices or is everything marked up 200% and on sale for 50% off ?

depends on what kinda wheels you want. most of the higher end wheels will just take your order. but there are lots of vendors that sell re-pro's with tires up there.

^^There is only a limited selection, and as far as I know you will have to go somewhere else to have them mounted and installed.

I never have seen a tire company on installers' alley. There is always a huge tire company setup against the Clay Street fence around Gate 2...may be NTB or one of the other national chains. I think you can order tires there for local installation back home or at least get a cash discount card or coupon from them.
There are a few rim only vendors who come with some inventory for walk-off sales. You'll have to walk the aisles or look in the book for the locations. Good luck.

Wait for Carlisle. I saw a couple of good deals last year. One was across from the ACP tent that displayed my car. It was West Coast Corvettes and they had a couple of pallets of wheels and tires at a steep discount. Near the main gate was another large trailer selling wheel tire combo's at a good price. Heck it's only a couple weeks away and Carlisle can't be that far from you.

On items like wheels and tires the only thing your truly saving is shipping cost so if your willing to haul them home yourself then it's worth waiting, if not then order what you want from whatever vendor and install them when BIG BROWN drops them off!

You can also try asking the vendor if they are going to Carlisle if they can save you some $$$ now because you can't make it this year (wink wink)

Either way good luck to you!
