What kind of push button start? Put your key in the ignition and switch it to "on" then push button (ala '04-newer Vipers (kinda useless)) or key fob in pocket and just push button to start (ala C6 Vettes)?

some 80 years ago a innovation called a "self starter" was introduced the the motoring public. this allowed the driver to start the engine from the cabin of the vehicle without having to stand outside jerking on a crank handle. thru various designs of switches and linkages this quickly became standard equipment. a key switch with starter button was one method which then evolved to a single switch with off, on, and start with one twist mounted in the dash. then steering column mount then became the norm in the industry. with the C5 the switch returned to the dash. now, several manufactures have taken another step back and gone to a push button start. a novelty?

also, at that time it was the practice to have 20+ inch tires. in the 30s wheel diameters started to decrease, 19, 18, 17, to 15 and 14 being the choice of auto makers. now, in recent years the trend has reversed. diameters are increasing, 17, 18, ete, etc.

have designers exhausted all ideas and now have to return to the days of old?

seems so.....I also do not see the big thing about a push button start. You still need to carry a fob so is just taking the key out of your pocket the big time saver here? my opinion I guess.

I think this mod is more about the cool factor and not the real functionality of it. A lot of cars are coming with it now and because its new its something a lot of people want. just like NAV and countless other things, but at least the Nav systems can make life a lot easier. chalk this one up as cool but kinda just a pointless technology mod.

Hi There & welcome,
Why would you want to do that? There are a lot more better mods.
