Just this week I bought a can of GM touchup paint for my Mag Red C5 from the local Chevy dealer. GM part number is 12371340. The code on the can is 86/379E.

86U is the RPO Code. The "WA" paint code for Magnetic Red II is 379E as shown at the following links:

http://corvetteactioncenter.com/spec...2000specs.html

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...2002specs.html

(Note: the 2000 specs above refer to it as "Red Tint tri-coat")

Your car's "WA" paint code will also be listed on the Service Parts Identification Label on the inside of the glove box lid. It should be at the bottom of the label directly after BC/CC which stands for Base Coat/Clear Coat and should show "U 379E" for Magnetic Red.

In the following example, "382E" is the paint code for this car which is painted Pewter Metallic:

I bought a touch up from paintscratch.com. Its descrbed as Red Tint Metallic Tri Coat and the code is 86/WA379E. As the name suggests you get a base coat and color coat and clear. I've used it on stone chips and its a good match.

Just a thought but if your car is an after market paint job you need to make sure they didn't use the 50th Anniversary Edition color which is more of a burgundy than the Mag Red II. Look at the pics of mine in my profile below. The sun makes the color look different. mag Red normally looks like the pic on the left. The bright sun in Vegas makes the car look a little more like the 50th color although the 50th is maybe a few shades darker than that.
