Default Dead Pedal adjustment?

I did a search and found a couple of threads dealing with making the dead pedal bigger, i.e. closer to the driver.

I am looking for some information on how to shorten the dead pedal and give me a little more leg room. I am 6ft 7in tall and even though I can still drive my C5 with my left foot on the dead pedal, I would be a LOT more comfortable if I could shave it down an inch or so.

Has anyone done this? Am I asking for trouble here?

I have looked at all sorts of aftermarket dead pedals, but it looks like all of them mount on top of the existing block...that would make my problem worse.

Thanks in advance for your help oh Obi Wan Kenobi's of all things Corvette!!!

The factory "dead pedal" is made of plastic attached with typical oem GM fasteners.
You'd have to remove it to see it's design/construction. You might consider just removing it all together or have a machine ship come up with a solid but shorter replacement. That might involve changing the fastening points though.
This comes from site supporting vendor ELITE ENGINEERING USA. Follow along with their instructions to see if that helps you...
