Chaps, I need some advice on the oil filter for the LS6 engine. I know the recommended filter is the PF46, but I already have a UPF44 filter which, according to Ecklers site, is an alternative (see their blurb below):
'Corvette Oil Filter, ACDelco Ultraguard™ Gold, 1997-2006
ACDelco’s Premium Filter
Provides Optimum Filtration For The Entire Service Interval
ACDelco P/N UPF44
Fits All Except 2006 Z06 LS7'
The UPF44 appears physically smaller than the PF46, and I just wondered if there are likely to be any issues.
Yep,I agree with blackz06.I personally use the Purolator PL 14006.I use Purolator in all my cars with good success.K&N makes a good one also. Both are reasonable in price & easily found.
Purolator was once one of my secondary sponsors,so I'm familiar with their stuff.

Oh, by the way, I'm in England
Back when the ACDelco UPF44 came out, the flow and filtering data showed it was at the top of the heap in comparison to other available filters. It's a very good filter too.
