Default Outside Temperature sensor is wako

I have a dual control A/C control on my 98 vette. The outside temp normally reads a lot less then actual. I usually ignore this except that once in a while it reads in the 30's. This causes my A/C to shut off and when the temp is 105+ degress outside, the interior gets very hot very quickly. Does anyone know where this sensor is?

Mine does this too and I dunno why. As for the sensor I believe that it is near one of the front turn signals...don't hold me to it though.

Go to the C5 Tech Section and do a search. I had to replace one on a Trailblazer. It was a easy fix once I knew where it was. Good luck.

Awesome! You can always count on forum members to come through. And you know what they say about a picture. Can't wait til I have some free time so I can change the sensor....Thanks.

Always find good info here. My sensor tends to "trip" sometimes too. May look into changing it out.

Hi guys -

I would add that it is an easy - 5 minute, pop in and plug in job to change the sensor, and it costs less than $10 even at a GM dealer, and they usually have a handfull in stock..

best regards-

mine did this one day after getting it hand washed at the local detail wash. the next day it worked fine. i chalked it up to water build up around the sensor...my buddies went wacko permanently and we just replaced it. easy job, the above diagrams are spot on.

aggravation, It's a 3 min job, I did mine in the lot at the dealer, I guess to some it might be more of a job than some can handle...
By the time the tech would of come out there it could of been done.

Nor did I want to wait till i got home later....they offered, I just asked to show me where it was located

Easy to change and a cheap part to buy - one of the few things that are on the car.
