John Caravaggio just called me to confirm the paint code on my 2002 Magnetic red C5. I am away and cannot confirm from the car itself, but looking online I see it lists as 86U.
Can anyone confirm or deny??
Thanks

You know you have a standing invitation, Dave! And besides, why would I ever want to promote the virtues of owning a black Corvette, even though we all know black is the fastest color!
I understand the oem paint code to be 86U and the 379E is a paint code cross reference for another paint manufacture being WA Code just as PPG paint code is 5402/03 and du pont is b9803/04, either that or it could be that I am on glue.

No that's not correct 86U is the RPO code for the color, the code your painter needs is WA-379E
My 2001 is Magnetic Red, trim code is 86U, which you already know.
It's my understanding that GM introduced a Magnetic Red II at some point. I don't know if this is the same color or not. Just throught I throw a wrench into the works.
