No springs are different than shocks. There are two leaf springs on the car. One in the back and one in front. The base suspension is the easiest to bend while moving up the C5Z it is alot stiffer and offers tighter rebound.

Thanks, I didn't know that!

So do guys usually replace these too? Or just the shock/sway combo?

Default gotta love white!

I'm going with C6-Z51 sways front and rear, then looking for the Z06 shocks, C5 or C6. That will be the extent of my summer mods, $$ gone.
Might not get to the shocks. Thinking of coil-overs...
I'm gonna run that sway bar set up for a while, see if stiffer springs are even needed. I drive mine every day and would prefer to gradually increase the stiffness.

Aloha

Default Coil Overs for the Street?

They mean springs. Many people change to Z06 leaf springs.

You say the car rides very smooth right now but, lacks firmness. I would say that most factory suspension cars ride harsh and soft. You may have noticed that during cornering over a rough surface the car feels unsettled? It is this same characteristic that causes the car to feel harsh over pot holes, expansion joints and rough pavement. What you are experiencing is the factory shocks high speed valving. The factory's shocks have too much high-speed damping which causes the car to feel harsh. If you would like more information about shocks please visit our blog!
Now, firmness is a term that I relate to spring rate and roll stiffness. I would characterize a car that is firm as a car that has little body roll, dive and squat.
About the overkill, most people believe that coil overs are for track cars and are overkill for the street. In the past this has been true. Now with the rise of the Pfadt Coil Over System this is starting to make this statement an old wives' tale. The reality of coil overs is that it is just a different form of suspension. The beauty of coil over is their ability to fit many people's needs. If you want a racecar, then coil overs is where you look. Now if you want better performance without sacrificing ride quality, Pfadt Coil Overs is where you look.

The Pfadt Coil Overs offer a spring rate that is 50% stiffer then stock to increase the cars firmness and responsiveness. They also feature adjustable shocks that rid the car of the harshness that you feel and give you the ability to change the feel of your car from mild mannered street cruiser to track attack vehicle with just the twist of ****.

For more information about the Pfadt Coil Overs please visit our website! There are also other ways to increase the cars firmness without sacrificing ride quality so please feel free to give me a call. I would be happy to discuss with you your expectations of the car and help you determine the best bang for your buck!

Please let me know if there is anything that I can help with!

Michelin Z/P's and Koni FSD's. Improved ride (big time). Improved handling. The noise factor from getting rid of the Goodyear Runcraps was also a plus.

I really wish I could. We have been working very hard to develop a good network of shops that carry and install Pfadt products. Offering discounts direct from us just takes sales away from our shops. We want to be fair to both our customers and our shops. I'm apologize that I can't be more help in this area.
