I used Folia Tec caliper paint on mine - it's epoxy based and dries hard as a rock. It goes on with a brush, but when it dries you will not see any brush marks. Had it on mine for over 6 years and it still looked great.
I used 1000 degree engine paint ,have been painted for 8 years ,no problem. By the way use your wife's emery board to clean the letters ,works great. She might not like it though.
Brushed mine on with Duplor caliper paint. Looks good
I kept the calipers on, I used the brush that came with the kit as well as a foam tipped brush you would find in the art section for 99 cents at wal mart. I brushed it on, and I am really happy with the results. No brush marks, and not bad for the ~15 bucks I spent. I used a razor blade to get the paint off the letters, and it looks sharp. Have enough left over paint that I gave it to my parents in case they ever wanted to do the calipers on their c5.
well, thanks for all the info and pics. they look great!
but.... let me ask you this.
my c-5 is white. ideally i would like the calipers to match the car. i was going to paint them white and lettering red. would white calipers look ok? i dont dont think i've ever seen a car with white brakes

I think yours would look awesome with red calipers and the original stainless letters. After painting, just take a flat file and slowely polish the paint off the letters. My .02
I used the Duplicolor that I got at Pep Boys. I brushed it on, and didn't remove the calipers. You don't see any brush marks, but it does take at least three coats to get it to look good. The first two coats look like crap. It's easy, and it does look good.
