I was looking at the Ht site. I am looking to order an intake. Question? T-1 carbon fiber induction, cost $499. T-1 carbon fiber cold air induction, cost $599. How are these different. I don't want to do any modifications to car, and I need the filter intake to be well elevated, for heavy rains. Which one do I get?
Sloth, the only thing a new intake will provide over the stock is a potential increase in air flow. You already have cold air via the front screens. The `02 has a better stock intake compared to the `01 since the inlet opening is larger. The aftermarket intakes provide different filters which allow increased air flows over the stock filter. I simply installed a K&N filter in my modified stock `01 intake to allow for an increased air flow. I think, unless you want a more beautified intake, that your stock inlet is just fine. Replace the filter and you will have made the most of the mod.
The old cold air aftermarket inlets which got air from the bottom of the car was introduced before the Z06 which has the front cold air screens. They are valuable for the coupe/conv models however which do not have the cold air screen. :chevy
