Default C5 Side Exit Exhaust

I have seen side exit exhaust on the C5-R and was wondering if ANYONE sells a kit. I found that the C6 race car does the same thing using headers that come over and down the rockers. I imagine it is the same for the c5. I wonder if this was custom made or if there is a company out there that could sell them. Anyone seen/heard anything about this??

The C5R and C6R are wider than the C5 and C6 so they can do that. This has been asked a few times in the past and so far there is no way to do it.

I don't think you can put an actual side exhaust onto a C5, but there is a C5 with side exit exhaust.. And no, this is not my car.

Did you notice how the guy had to raise his car about 3" to get the side pipes to fit?

If you could cut the rocker panels and inset some pipes on the sides, they just might look better. You would have to cut a big chunk out of the front fenders, as well, and then the pipe would be right up against the computer, and that might not be such a good thing.

People who put side exhausts on a C5 should be put up against a wall and pelted in the groin with live firecrackers.

Hideous, Just plain hideous.

And the question is why....why would anyone want to do this to their Vette?

Excuse me while I clean up this pile of puke in front of me.

the only place to squeeze them in is in the very rear of the rocker, otherwise the frame is in the way. IMHO it doesnt look right unless its on a track only car.

I think it should be mandatory to do this without cats and then the owners have to sit parked with the windows down so the carbonmonoxide and gasoline fumes can just make them go to sleep...zzzzzz

I seem to remember the old C4 challenge cars having their exhaust coming out the side panel right behind the rear wheels. I thought it looked wicked as a race car but not so much for the street.

Hideous. But on the positive side, no need for rocker panel protectors.
