Default Going back to a C5

Just wanted to let everyone know that I went from an 02 C5 to an 07 C6 coupe. Added the widebody on the C6. Had the C6 for about 5 months and I can't wait until I sell it to go back to a C5. This time I will get a C5Z. Everytime I drove past one in the C6 I regret getting rid of mine. I am not looking to turn this into a which is better debate. But I would like to give my personal experience and advise. First of all to those that are thinking about "upgrading", DON'T DO IT!! It's just not worth it. After owning it for 6 months and adding 10k miles I came to realize it rides like a smooth fast 4 door sedan. It doesn't have that "raw" sports car feel like my C5 did. And the looks of the C6 just didn't do it for me. Only reason why I traded my C5 was because of the 0%. Boy was that a mistake. I thought I would grow to like the C6 but I can't. Anyways I will be lurking in the C5 for sale section for a Z for sale. I will post pics when I buy it.

FYI ~ Reasons in order why I am going back to the C5
1. Looks of the C6 can't grow on me.
2. Rides to smooth
3. Interior sucks
4. Doesn't have that raw appeal and feel when driving it
5. I like the pop up lights.

Anyways just wanted to share that with you all. Again I don't want this to turn into a C6 vs C5 debate. Hopefully for those thinking of pulling the trigger on a C6, this post might shed some light.

I've heard a few C6 owners mention that they don't have that raw sports car feel that the C5s have, and are just a bit too refined.

I still definitely plan on getting a C6 someday, however I don't plan on selling my C5 either, I plan on having both. So that way I get the best of both worlds.

I drove a C5Z for the very first time yesterday actually (it was a friend's rare 2001 Speedway White Z06 actually), and think you're going to love it! The one I drove was stock with the exception of a Vararam and it was lowered one inch, and man that car was a blast to drive! Fastest car I've ever driven, and handled incredibly well but yet the ride wasn't bone jarring at all, even with the one inch drop.

The C6 has never really done it for me. Before buying my C5, I did try out a C6 but what really bothered me (and not mentioned in your list) was that the rear visibility was horrible. Granted the rear pillar in the FRC C5 is somewhat blinding, but I can still at least look back... couldn't do that in a C6. I have been under the impression though that C6 seats blow away C5 seats... so much so, I have been looking to buy some.

Welcome Home!!

You have to do what you have to do, The C6 is a fine car, every car isn't for everyone, Some like New Toyota's, Some Honda's and some the New Vette. I like everything about my C5, I have driven the C6 a number of times and at first I didn't care for it, But it has grown on me, If I had the cash there would be a C6Z in my garage and not the C5, But that isn't going to happen. Welcome back, You have to do what you feel is right for you.

1. Looks of the C6 can't grow on me. Has grown on me...
2. Rides to smooth. I thought just the oppsite
3. Interior sucks. I wouldn't say it sucks, Just different.
4. Doesn't have that raw appeal and feel when driving it. Not for me.
5. I like the pop up lights. I can take pop-up or fixed.
This is just my opinion.

I have a C5 for cruising and a C4 for autocross. Had a problem with the C4 at an autocross event and a friend let me finish the last two races in the event with his C6 Z06....not only was it a quantum leap from my C4 Z52 but it was just sooo much faster and responsive than my C5..no comparison whatsoever..that C6 Z06 is just awesome...

My C5 Z06 is staying in my garage for a long time. Well into the C7's I'm sure. I have to reason to upgrade really. I only have 13K on the odo. I just love the C5Z look, and with 525HP it still keeps up with the best of em. I can easily get more too if I wanted (bigger cam + Fast 90/90).

I too love my C5 and would not trade it for anything

Maybe you can SuperCharge the new Z06 (new to you) and really enjoy the RAW POWER

Thanks and welcome back

Thanks,Matt

Kind a bummer. I too was thinking that the looks of the C6 would grow on me (hasn't happened yet) and someday I would get one. I guess if that ever happens I will keep my C5.
