I normally get around 21 MPG doing my normal 23 mile round trip commute. I've gotten as low as 17 with almost all surface street driving and a heavy right foot. Freeway mileage varies but is normally a little above the rated 28 MPG. I did a trip recently from Granby CO to Salt Lake along US-40 (65-70MPH with lots of small towns and three 8000 ft passes) and according to the DIC I averaged 32.8. I'm sure it's a little optimistic and I'll find out exactly what I mileage I got when I fill it up again but the fuel gauge still showed half a tank after 430 miles so it's definately going to be above 30.
My Vette is a bone stock 98 MN6 coupe minus the runflats.
30+ is possible.... if you never accellerate. If you coast a lot and drive slowly and baby it a LOT you can get close to that number.. unless you live in a hilly area.
In washington getting anything over 23-24 is unrealistic unless you are doing nothing but interstate driving without traffic on a dry day.
I average 17 around town, 23 highway, mixed driving yields about 22 average. if I step on it.. 18 average.
Bolt on's will help your coasting milage, but are going to hurt you when you are on it. It will depend on how you drive it. If you are making more power, you can maintain a certain RPM with less throttle, which reduces gas. Also, headers weigh less than the stock manifolds, which will also help you a little in the gas department.
I just picked up my 98 in Delaware and managed 29mpg on the highway including sitting at the G.W. Bridge in NY for 2hrs! Thats with the top off and windows down!
Not to shabby

lol if you believe you got 29mpg while sitting at the G.W. Bridge for 2hrs...I have a bridge I can sell you cheap lol. I'll give you a clue, while sitting there you are getting 0 MPG so if you add that plus the distance you traveled....well shoot you would have to go pretty far to get that back up to 29 mpg lo
First off you can't go by the DIC....we have all seen how much each car varies. Stock to stock year to year you can match them up and constantly get one that will do 24 mpg and the other at 33. Either vettes are more inconsistent (in the motor dept) then mustangs (not likely) or the calibration for the fuel system simply has some issues (more likely).

I don't know where you guys get those numbers...seriously!
Every car I own I never see advertised gas mileage-in my F150 5.4l I get 11 mpg in traffic and the forums say 15 mpg.
In my 2000 A4 I get 15 in Houston traffic and read about 18-20 ???????
Now,I don't get out and push my vehicles....I DRIVE....but still

For your information on average the DIC runs about 1.2 to 1.4 to the happy side. An old habit from the old days I calculate and notebook my #s all the time. Yes you can get fabulous mileage with real driving I have gotten a real 30 on the highway running 70 to 80 with 2 adults, luggage and A/C on overall average for the trip was 29.02 running 80 to 90 down south (Georgia) where if you are in the left lane you BETTER be running like that or you get run over!!
[QUOTE=ValiantSailor;1566965646-You can correct the 02 switching points--those always help
Header 02 sensor bung location desrupts the stock setting when installing headers
get them to oscilcte when driving norman say around 45 to rerad .450 millivolts You can play with the DFCO setting abd get somw bwtter results--but be ready fir a jerky ride when it bseiths bete=ween mi=odes
