howdy all, I am beginning my search for a 03-04 low mileage Z06 and was just wondering If a 6'5 guy can fit comfortably in one of these beauties? Ive never had the pleasure of driving a vette and was leaning towards a C6 at first but after alot of reading and hours of pictures I now like the C5 Z better and the cockpit looks a tad smaller on these models? Just looking for a lil input, thanks yall

Yes, you will fit as long as you don't have a huge butt from being overweight.
I am 6'3" and weigh about 285. I have plenty of room, but I did have to get the seat belt extenders from Chevrolet. It's not that I was too fat, but I fit very close to the console and had a hard time latching the belt. The 9 inch extender did just what I wanted. By the way, they are free from your dealer.
03's and 04's have a different headliner which reduces the headroom at the back of the cockpit (right where us tall guys need it!!). I changed mine to the '99 to '02 FRC/Z06 headliner and it is much more comfortable now. I am 6' 4" BTW and could not get comfortable with the original liner.
I'm 6'7, 290 and I fit in a C5Z just fine. But I have abnormally-long legs and a normal torso. I have about 3/4 inch of headroom in an '03. The earlier cars with the different headliner may provide extra headroom if you have a long torso. The C6 fit is ok, but the dash below the steering wheel hits me mid shin, which made pushing the clutch more difficult.
I think your best bet would be to find a C5Z to sit in, mess with the seat a lot, and find your best seating position. There is really a lot of room to work with. There are lots of threads about this if you search.
