I was corresponding with one of the folks at the MCM explaining that the overseas Military Sales Rep couldn't tell me anything about the '03's. Long story short. I don't want to pick up til Sep. but I have to buy before Mar. and thought I could wait for an '03.
Their response: "Dealer can't place order until May. Color, option and pricing info not available until July 1st." :(
As for me, I will happily stay w/ the '02 (EB more than likely).
I know there are many on this site with better inside scoop than me so let me know if this is close to accurate. Thanks.
Bob,
You know better than to lay a bunt down like that and then run :D I was talking about various engines with my dealer and we agreed that a 427 would be great for the Anniversary. However, none of us had any inside information :bb At least no one would admit to any inside info!
I think it would be great if we could get the LS6 in the Vert or Coupe and give the Z06 450HP. Wishful thinking I fear
Yes, the order goes in usually in mid May of 02, for 03's. I also heard that 425HP was next for the Z. I've know that some dealers have a 2003 Corvette list already, so you might want to get on some list. Yes, they have been playing with a 427, I believe Lingenfelter was helping with that. But I don't believe the 427 will be a reality, at least from the factory. Weight and fuel concerns may be an issue. The new Viper will have 500Hp so who knows what Corvette will do to keep up. A new color will be Gun metal gray for 2003, I guess it will replace the silver. The anniversary color will be a white/red combination, last I heard. They were also considering three different front ends. They looked Ferrari style with a bigger opening in front. I hope they don't mess up the front end to much. And Electron Blue may not exist after 2002.
It does not seem very smart to me for GM to keep making the Z06 better, who's going to feel good laying down $50Gs when next year is going to better? Its gotta **** of the 01 buyer as the 01 had to take a larger depriciation hit than usual when the very next year the car got better. if I buy an 02 Z06 I would like it to be the badest vette for at least a couple of years!!
The car manufacturers are in the business of selling new cars, not used cars. If GM did not improve their new cars, nobody would buy them. People that are concerned about depreciation don't by new cars. That's why I bought a virtually new ZR-1 for 35 cents on the dollar.
Hey, I am putting my order in next month.(Feb.) The paper work will not go in until the end of May. I am hoping that the order number will be one of the first to come off the line in July or August. Also looking forward to getting to drive down to Bowling Green and watch it being put together. Can anyone tell me the benifits of taking museum delivery? Other than getting your car quicker. Thanks. :blueangel:

Re: 2003 Z06 ORDERING UPDATE (Beignet Joe)
[QUOTE] I guess it will replace the silver.
Pewter will be gone. Replaced by Shale Metallic. Silver is still #3 in sales. No way they replace it. As far as Z06 HP, the General will bump it up just enough to make you want to trade/sell what you have, so that you can have " the latest high HP Vette". Marketing. They do it everytime. :( :(
SAVE the WAVE :) :seeya :)
'02, , A4, 3:15, Coupe, bone stock. Fast enough for me. ;) ;)
