Love flat black---Home depot has cases of flat black--no run on sale--Would take 4 cases with 2 brushes or spray, your choice for 120.00--how can you beat that--Make sure you get 10 cans of clear spray--Get white wall tires and you will have a show stopper or maybe a show winner--chip foose would be proud
That would be a nice ghetto looking paint job, Home depot paint, brushed on.. is this for a vette or a beater wagon
There is a guy in my area with a totally camoflaged C3. He thinks it's cool and takes it to car shows and is oblivious to everyone laughing behind his back..
Maybe that's the AWESOME part?

Like when I laugh at the cars with the 50lb billet wheels and tail light grills... Then again, I have a matte black Group 4 Pantera

Once I've seen that car, I don't think I could hold it in until I got behind him.
"Wicked" awesome? Doug, you must be from New England.

Just read it the other day about those from the NE. I think AWESOME is about the single most overused word these days. I must hear it 20 times a day at work.
The flat look comes from the old school rods which were primed (not painted). There are two ways to achieve flat black...
1. Clear with flatting agent (as most have said)
2. single stage flat like Hot Rod Black by SEM
Both work great but you get better UV protection with a base-coat, clear-coat.
Pro: Looks cool Con: Hard to keep clean, can not be polished (or it will shine) and if there is any dirt in the paint it can not be rubbed and polished out as that will start to give it a dull shine!
If you have any question please do not hesitate calling me
Then don't be offended when people are rolling around laughing when you drive by in your Darth Vader car.
If its a decision I plan on, other peoples opinions(good or bad) wont affect my view on it. If other peoples opinions actually cared, then I dont think I'd be living my life for myself.
So what, let them laugh, At least I have a Darth Vader mobile. All i need is a lightsaber and I'm set.

EXCELLENT reply. Thank you. I appreciate it. The whole "keeping it clean" is my main issue. I enjoy driving my car and it is my Daily Driver.
Every Saturday is dedicated to cleaning the car. But I can see how it would be difficult to keep this clean at all times. I'm sure dusting it would leave streaks too which would be hard to wipe off haha.
hmm, perhaps I should go with Sunburst Orange... haha
