Default tire sizes

My boss has a 96 and is in need of some new tires. I have a 99 and just bought new wheels and tires for my car, the runflats i have are in great condition still. We were talking this morning and thought maybe he could use my tires???
This is where the great people of the corvette forum come in....can anyone tell me what size tires are on a 96 stock vette? Will my 17's and 18's work on his car with his stock wheels???

i posted here because it doesnt look like there is alot of traffic in the wheels and tires section.

thanks in advance for the help

Steve

Unless I;m mistaken, his wheel sizes are 17inch all the way around, and they are wider then ours; 9 inches wide in front, 10 inches in back. Our wheel sizes are staggered; 17x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the back.

I would advise him to check out TireRack.com. Good deals on tires there.

In 96, I believe only Z51 C4's had 17x9.5 all around. The rest had 17x8.5 front and 17x9.5 out back. So your tires alone will not work on his car.

Now - if you sell him your old wheels and tires they'll work. Your 99 wheels will fit his 96 with no problems. You can run any C5 wheel on any 89-96 C4 with no issues and no rubbing.

I agree. The '96 did not have 18" wheels on the car. And the Tire Rack is a good place to check for tires.
