Hi,
Actually I have two issues.
First one is, when I bought my 2003 vette, I swapped wheels from my old 1997 vette to the 2003. Since then the tire sensor says it needs service. Does that mean the old sensors dont work anymore, or does that message have to be cleared from the computer, so the sensors on the older wheels can work, and if so, how do I do that?
Second issue.
When I start up the engine, sometimes I hear a ticking noise, like it needs oil, (but doesnt). It sounds like the lifters in my 1960 Olds did. Anybody got a possible why for that?
Got my first flat. Thank the Lord I have runflats.

Reason: misspell
The way the system works is that the tire pressure sensors send a radio frequency signal to a receiver in the rear of the car which sends the pressurereading to the computer. The door lock fobs use the same receiver.
Unfortunately, the 99-00 sensors work at a different frequency to the newer cars so they wont work on an 03. you'll need to replace them with the newer sensors.
The good news is the newer sensors for the 03 are only $35 each so its not a great investment to replace them. i'd also bet that you'd sell the older sensors here very easily as the 97-00s are starting to quit and many members with the old TPSs are looking for replacements

Auto parts stores sell all kinds of stuff that they say will do the trick, Over the years I have never seen any of that stuff work, And I would never think of putting it in my Vette, Have you tried to change the oil? Sometimes that will work, But in most cases if it is the lifters they should be replaced.
