I picked up a 99 coupe the other day so I'm over here asking the experts a few questions. I've got the original Bose system and I'm getting no AM reception and the FM is sometimes weak. Antenna cable loose or bad? Also, the drivers side door speaker is "fuzzy". I'd kind of like to know what I should look for before tearing stuff out. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your new C5!
The reception issue does sound like a loose connection at the antenna in the rear of the radio.
Follow the instructions in this link to remove the console. Once the console is out remove the four bolts on the front of the stereo and you can slide it out.
Check the antenna cable there. Also check the cable outputs to the amplifiers there. The speaker in the door could be a speaker or amp issue. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Thanks for the help guys. This is actually my third c5 (01, 02 vert, 99) Every time I get rid of one I always regret it. I love the way these things drive and handle, not to mention fuel mileage. Business has been real slow this year, so I sold my 62 and I was getting " vette withdraw" pains. I got a good deal on this and jumped on it. It has 45.000 miles and is show room nice (except for the darn radio). This is the first one that everything has not worked perfect, so hence the stereo questions. I'll be hanging out here instead of the c1-2 section now, I guess. Kind of feels like I'm back home again. Chris
