I have a 2000 C5 Six Speed Convertible and sporadically I receive all of these error messages at once when I drive the car from the computer like Tire Pressure Monitor System Needs Servicing, Traction Control Needs Service, No Fuel, Reduced Engine Power, Door Ajar, etc. I have had my mechanic go thru it and everytime he thinks he has the problem solved it comes back. The messages happen very sporadic, and usually by the time I get it to the mechanic the issues are solved. Yesterday, I got all of the messages were coming up and then I drove over a set of railroad tracks and everything was okay again. Does anyone know what this could be, or if you happen to know a good Corvette Mechanic in central or northern NJ that could help. Thanks.
Have you checked all the grounds?they could be coroded. If you do a search on the grounds there's alot of info on this subject and the related problems due to bad grounds, good luck
One of the other forum members described the symptoms as his car having a STROKE. Bill Curlee gave him this information."1. BCM is getting damp or wet. Do a very good investigation and check all of the carpet in the passengers foot well and the carpet underlayment for being damp or wet. The water tends to collect in the middle under the passengers seat area if there was a leak. If the BCM gets wet,,it will have a coronary. If it gets wet enough times,,it will DIE! That means $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
My bet is this is the issue.
2. If the serial buss grounds or shorts, it too can cause similar symptoms. The most likely area that this can happen is the in the door accordion tubes. The door wiring harness connectors commonly have a bare wire that causes this. Pop out the rubber tube out, pull up the connectors from the body well and inspect the connectors.
There are TWO small thin grey connectors to the LEFT of the BCM in the foot well. Those are the STARR CONNECTORS and where the serial buss all connect together. Make sure that the top of the connectors (shorting bars) are pressed on the connector correctly."
1) As DeeGee says, check your battery and connections. That's the easiest.
2) Check the accordian tubes in the door jambs as midnight rider suggests. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ight=door+jamb
