Default ECS Diff Brace Installed

Alright, not completely but will be by the beginning of next week. The first pic is the raw pieces that arrived zinc coated. I painted them satin black (I just liked the look better) and installed the brace along with my new RPM diff. Installation was easy and the parts are quality bits. Thanks to Chris at ECS and TJ at RPM for the excellent service as usual.

Comments like that just invite "other manufactures" in this thread and trust me, it will be locked.

Feel free to call me at the shop and I would be happy to explain.

No problem. I honestly can't say that this brace is better or worse than others on the market. This is the only brace that I've seen/installed first hand. I can tell you that it fits well, is easy to install, and is constructed with quality parts. Other plus' include the fact that it was made by a shop that I trust and was available in the time frame that I required.

I'm not sure how to compare performance but if you don't see carnage pics from me soon, all's well.

It's exciting to finally be installing the all the parts laying around my garage.

I didn't try it that way since I was replacing the clutch, slave, master cylinder, pilot bearing, and diff but I do know you would have to at least lower the trans assembly for access. At that point you're like 6 bolts from removing the whole thing so I would suggest installing the brace when performing other work that requires the removal of the same parts. Unless you have tiny hands and MUCH better tools than me.

We have done it but its a pretty tight job. For as easy as it it to take the rear cradle down it would be faster than trying to fight doing the install with the cradle in the car.

So Chris, (BTW I knew it was a loaded question - you didn't take the bait ) are you saying there is enough room to install the brace just by lowering the cradle? I know you're limited by the intake manifold/firewall clearance as to how far you can tilt things.

when I took my trans out on jackstands. I found out the manifold/firewall clearance isn't that limited. If you leave that exhaust heat shield inplace, that can be your guide. you will have clearance between your firewall and should have enough to install the brace also

how new is this product?. surprised it wasn't really advertised (well I never heard of it). looks good though and nice timing. I've been on the market for a brace for about 2 months with no luck of acquiring one so far
will any other info be giving on this w/o having to make a phone call?

I think there would definitely be enough room by lowering the cradle. It would be tight but doable. I thought you meant leaving everything in place.

I was surprised to. Basically I found it on the ECS website and called Chris. He said they had a batch coming back from coating the day I called and had one in the mail to me the next day.

I'm sure there will be a few more popping up around here.

Its a new product for us. We are just getting them in production right now. We have not really advertised it that much untill we really get production going as to not have a huge wait list for customers. I do have a bunch packed and ready to go if you need one.
