Default No dash lights????????

The last two nights I have turned on my head lights and my interior dash lights go off. Everything is normal until the head lights are turned on then darkness! HUD is fine as well as the displays on the climate control and stereo. Any thoughts or suggestions?

i just had the same thing happen to my '02 z0. you'll prolly find that you have no taillights or running lights in the rear (although your brake/turn signals are working). i took it to my local dealership and they swore it was my dash cluster. i mentioned that i read here on the forum that most people who experienced these symptoms had their multi-function switch (headlight/turn/cruise) replaced and everything was fine afterwards, but they were sure it was the dash cluster. they removed it and sent it to socal. they couldn't find a prob so they were going to replace it. after 8 days of car rental, they decide to try the multi-function switch and everything worked..
i also had a bad catalytic converter which was still covered by the gm warranty, so i got a new center exhaust section, but later found that they had taken my x-pipe and i am now back to the factory h-pipe setup.

bottom line - check your multi-function switch. do a search for "dash lights out" in the c5 general section and you'll find some good reading and, if you're so inclined, a tutorial on how to remove/repair your switch.

good luck and let me/us know how it all turned out for you.

Yeah, normally the headlamp switch assembly but sometimes, its simply the dimmer has been turned down too.

Thank you! I will give them a try. BTW, all exterior lamps are working and functional.

Check all your fuses too. I think it is Fuse 16 in the passenger footwell. It powers the dash lights (when the headlights are on) and the taillights.

Don't be offended, but make sure your dimmer is up before you start swapping parts.

It's fuse #6 in the passenger footwell (marked foglights) which is quite deceiving. (10A) fuse.
