Default Ls6

This is one of the funniest threads in a long time! My office workers thought I was having a stroke!
For the LS6 my vote is for the LGX3 from LG it sounds nasty! From talking to them it makes good HP and can be tuned to drive easily. That is what I will be putting in unless they come up with something else. You can hear it on Utube and I think also on the LG web site. Im an old fart also and I am looking forward to driving daily with it thumpin.

You could get close with a big cammed and ported heads + Bolt-ons 427ci, but thats a lot of $$. You'll be a long way off even with the most extreem LS6 build, plus it won't be streetable. By the time you upgrade to a built 427, clutch, transmission, rearend etc to handle it. You might as well just buy an already heads/cammed C6 Z06. Or look for a C5 with a 427 swap already done. There are a couple for sale in the For Sale section of this forum for decent prices.

These cars are relatively light compared to the big block cars you mentioned earlier. With some tire and a good run a 475 whp C5 is a 10 sec. 1/4 mile car.

Yeah - us old farts have been around for a while and this thread has some comments that made me laugh till the tears ran. It's not the "bad" sound that produces performance - it's the way the pkg is put together. I've heard some mean sounding machines pull up to the line - then die and have to be pushed back to the pits!

When I said I wanted a daily driver I should of said useable. Understanding the area that I live in would probably give you an idea of what I am talking about. I live right next to Heffner Motorsports which builds some of the most powerful Lambo, viper, and Ford GT in the world. Besides those cars there are tons of high powered cars here.

I want a car that pulls up to a light in town or rolls through the streets and people look and remember the old days of the big motor. I will say that in my life right now I want to be noticed but not in a exotic. Everyone owns one and frankly I couldn't compete against some of these people.

Imagine you just dropped a 1/2 million on a SLR McLaren...you would be feeling pretty highly of yourself. Having a Mclaren F1 pull up next to you and a 18 year old girl jumps out makes you wonder what money is. I have been sitting at a light and a 80 year old women pulls up next to me in a Red Enzo. This place is outside of all other worlds. I went to the grocery store and was shocked to see the one of a kind Shelby GR-1 RS. I am not kidding with you guys about this. Don't think either that its just here and there with random cars. What I know currently there are 2 Enzo's, 1 Veyron, 1 EB110, 2 Carrera GT's, 2 Mclaren F1's, tons of Lambos's and Ferrari's, Porsche GT1,Ferrari F40 and F50, Mercedes CLK-GTR coupe and roadster. The guy that owns CVS Pharmacy lives here and owns 40 cars.

That is why the Zo6 is such an amazing car in my opinion. I will never be able to compete against these people when it comes to having the best car or even a normal exotic. I will however be able to go back to the old days with the hard idle, large displacement, american powered corvette. I rather have people come up to me and ask about the car then people to just see me in a neon green exotic. Corvettes are the American legacy.

Owning a Corvette is something to be proud of when being an American...it's our Heritage!

then just through a big cam and LT's on it. it will sound just like you want. trying to get 600 rwhp N/A will cost a ton and you still wont compete with those cars.

All you need is Headers, a loud after cat exhaust, and a big cam package (including springs pushrods Ti retainers). This will put you around 420hp+ to the wheels and sound nasty. You can't judge HP by the sound. Get some good drag radials and practice your launches, you'll be able to beat most those cars off the line b/c they'll be spinning the tires and you'll be taking off
