...I found that a folded up towel does the trick every time. Sellers of these things seem to be making a killing.

Do a thread search for the BMW jacking pucks. They pop in and stay in. You never have to worry about them again. What if by some chance you have to have someone else, jack the car. These are reasonable and remove any future concerns about, are they in, where did I put them, etc.

Make your own with real (hard rubber) hockey pucks and "I-Bolts". FAR less chance of slipping.

I just use hockey pucks-I didn't even screw eye bolts into them. Of course since I play hockey, these things are always lying around

Throwing in the towel!
Me do! Made my own and doubled up two hockey pucks for each location. For the price, why be cheap or be sorry that you 1/2 A--ed things later, after the fact? Good luck.

I have rocker rails. They spread the load so they're just as good as pucks

I too, have rocker rails. I made sure the rails that I puchased and installed would still accept my pucks.

Got my set on Ebay and I think they make a big difference. Much more stable and I don't have to worrk about the fiberglass sliding against the jack cradle anymore. I left them on the passenger's seat with a note when I had my car at the bodyshop last week.

Sometimes I use them other times I'm just really careful of where I put the jack. Either way works fine for me.

BMW pucks have been snapped in place since I got my car. They don't fall out, I don't leave home w/o them and they're in place if I need them.

Maybe these pics will help a little. Drill a guide hole, screw it in, and you're done. They twist into position and stay there.
