dealer entered my VIN.. it says that my car has "soft ride" leaf springs, part # 22146323 (this is for the rear).. they also said leaf springs from 98-02 would fit...
my car has the **** that that selects touring, sport, perf.. so "soft ride" vs "sport ride" refers to the leaf spring only i guess...
anyways, i found a used set, with part # 22171757..coming off a 2000 vette... can someone tell me if these are for "soft ride" or "sport ride" ??
also, IF it is sport ride, can i still install it on my car without any issues with handling, etc ?
Not sure if I can answer the question. The sport/tour/perf switch sets the ride control. Thats the ride setting for the F45 shocks on the older cars like mine. That, and AH, were an option early on. I'm struggling to work out why the leaf spring would be different. Despite the different shocks the leaf spring seems to be the same part # from the parts manual.
Now I could be wrong but given the lack of replies............
The GM part numbers for the different suspension springs are:
- Z06 Front spring: 22178729
- Z06 Rear spring: 22188038
- Z51 Front spring: 22178729 (note: same as Z06)
- Z51 Rear spring: 22179020
- Base Front Spring: 22178728
- Base Rear Spring: 22179019
