Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this.
On my way home last night my left directional would blink very fast . My right directional was fine. I've seen this happen if a bulb was burnt out. I checked all bulbs and they seemed fine. I figured I would look at it later and went in the house. I have twilight sent. so the lights were on when I closed the garage door since they "usually" go off after a minute.
When I got in it this morning the battery was dead. The lights were still in the "up" position which I'm assuming the twilight sent. didn't turn them off. I'm charging it now but am unsure why the entire battery went dead.
Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm going to work on it when I get home (after it's charged) but I really have no idea where to start. Not sure why the left directional was flipping out and unsure what would cause the battery drain.
Do you think something like this would throw a code? Since the battery was drained will all of the codes be erased? I haven't checked yet but will when I get home.
Thanks again Whosull for the info. Turned out being easier than I thought I should have known better when the wife checked the lights and said they were all working I checked and the directional was burnt out in the front. Replaced it and problem gone Still not sure why twilight sent. didn't shut my headlights off and drained the battery; something I'll have to keep an eye on.

Hi Russ,
Even though I have the twilight sent. on mine, I don't use it because I prefer to have the control of when the lights pop up or down. I'm not sure either why it wouldn't shut off lights. Glad you got it solved.

I cannot tell if you have an A4 or MN6, if manual did you happen to forget to set the brake? I've done that before and they won't go down until the parking brake is set. Since I have it set to one bar pause they go down fairly quickly and I noticed it right away since they didn't go down by the time I was out of the vehicle.

That's a good point Bob, I may have to shut it off too. It's not like I don't know when it's dark enough to turn the headlights on

It is a A4. I think I have to either shut off twilight like Bob said or maybe set it at one bar like you have so they go off fairly quickly. I do like they way I never have to turn them on or off.
Thanks to both of you for your posts; much appreciated
I would recommend not opening and closing your headlights more than is absolutely necessary, given their propensity to shread the gears after so many operations.
If Twilight Sentinel has turned on
the lamps when you turn off the ignition, your lamps
will remain on until:
The headlamp switch is moved from OFF to the
parking lamp position, or
a delay time that you select has elapsed.
Select the delay time that you want. You can also select
no delay time.
If you turn off the ignition with the headlamp switch in
the parking lamp or headlamp position, the Twilight
Sentinel delay will not occur. The lamps will turn off as
soon as the switch is turned off.
That last part is interesting in your case, was the lamp switch inadvertently turned on
because it would prevented sentinel from turning off the lamps.
