I'd like to buy one one of these days.

If you're one of the lucky few... please share your opinions of the shifter with us. Tell us how the construction quality is and how it performs. I am really dying to know if this will be a rattle free shifter.

Name the price cause I bet zrchris will wanna cover my bet on this sure thing! :yesnod:
Whoever received them, please respond and give us your comments. Maybe we're on the wrong discussion group because they are not driving Z's. If this thread was on General, I bet we'd have an answer immediately. :yesnod:

keep you're shorts on................
This calling me Mr. Negativity, after the delay's and previous supposed ship dates is enough to cause ANYONE, not just me, to question the veracity of the data.
I HOPE you are correct, as I am in limbo still.............IF it's as good as the Ripper, but easier to shift, then I will be in line with my dinero also.........
I am sick of the stock rod.............
Besides, when folks are mad at me, I tend to be very sensitive, and I :cry a lot.............sniff, sniff............
I too was a "Doubting Thomas" once... but after all that has been said and done, i believe zrchris. He wouldn't have said THIS week unless he was absolutely sure... especially after a whole year of saying, "next month, next month." Another post like that would just be embarrasing.
So, If he says they will be here THIS week, then by golly, I believe him!
I posted on the technical forum so that we will get a response from one of the owners real soon.

There is something seriously flawed in this product to take this long to come to market. Ignore the record in other cars and avoid this when they finally get it out. It is delayed because it doesn't work. Those who buy will have serious regrets. jerboa, stock shifting

Early units are in transit as we speak. The truck didn't leave until 1/4/02. The (early) shifters arrived at Mr. Gasket's distribution center TODAY. They're heading out to me today, and I expect to have them to the end users by the end of next week. Actual retail release won't occur until around the end of January or early February, when the rest return safely from the coater.

Fact. Hurst is not the company it was back in the 60s when it was independantly owned and most everyone had one of their products.
Why you want to question my involvement I don't know- the shifters I've installed speak for themselves. I pass along the information I have to those that make an inquiry, but clearly some on this forum would be best left in the dark. There's no conspiracy here; if you need a shifter immediately, buy someone else's. At this point I would say retail delivery will happen in early February. But a few early units will definitely be in CF member hands by the end of this week.
As far as Muffler's comment- Fact: The Hurst C5 shifter was introduced at SEMA 2000, in November of 2000, and evaluated in a Corvette Fever article in December of 2000. Rumors since then have simply had to do with product release dates. Hurst is much the same company today as it was long ago, but now produces a more extensive product line than ever before, and with more competitors than before. The C5 shifter is a single small application out of many; basing one's view of a company on the delayed release of a single application is naive, but understood if that's all that matters to you.

Sounds like that man has a future in project management :)
ZR - note to self, always pad engineering completion estimates. People are always willing to be pleasantly surprised with early delivery.
Peace
