Can anyone tell me how to get to the flashing unit for the turn and 4 ways. Thanks Mark
As you know, it's an integral part of your fourway button. To remove/replace it - first pull the center console/radio bezel, remove the radio and then with some probes go up through the radio cavity to release the passenger side clip on the flasher/switch module. (Buy the new one first so you can see what you need to release more clearly) After the passenger side release is undone you can push the unit out the rear with not too much effort. Hook up the wiring to the new one and fish it up through the mounting bracket till it clicks into place. Have fun.

That, to put it plainly, is friggin insane money and time to replace what should be a $2.00 part.
I spotted a thread here last week by another frustrated C5 owner, describing a great way to solve the dreaded intermittent turn signal failure. He had found a bypass harness sold by Corvette Enhancements, AKA Wing Waxers, and gave their number. I called and decided to give it a try. It's an elegant and low cost solution. Installs in with only a #15 torx, 4 srews, completely eliminating the turn signal circuit thru the emrgency flasher switch that GM so foolishly located above all the radio and AC gear. Replacing that piece of GM low bidder junk means complete disassembly of the console and dash, removal of the radio. And a new switch at $40 will fail again. The bypass worked on the first try at only $60 delivered with only 15 minutes labor. So I have to give them a shout out, and recommend them for this simple, inexpensive solution. Good thinking! They are at 800-946-4929, or e-mail wingwaxers@earthlink.net.
PS I will miss smacking the top of the dash, but not that much.
Might be worth a try.
I call having to disassembe the dash and pay $40 for what is basically a (what is now a) $12.00 part insane. Poor engineering on someones part.
