Wow sorry to hear about that. just think about this, Mine got rear ended on May 21 and its still not done missed out on driving all summer. Good luck with the pepairs and the new bumper cover

No, not tunnel vision. Cops are pretty good, even when running hot (well, most of us). But, when you are going, and deer is going to go, better to hit it and not swerve. Nasty dead deer, but sure beats rolling, especially when running hot.

...Never wrecked a patrol car...but believe it or not...many cops DO get tunnel-vision when running hot (especially young inexperienced officers)...It's one reason Im ALWAYS scanning the side of the road, side streets, etc when running hot.....Just last night I was running hot to a domestic call (one of the few calls we are allowed to run code on)..While en-route, not one, not two, but THREE deer ran right out in front of me...(lotsa deer in this part of Colorado)..I threw out the anchor and managed to stop without hitting them......I cant imagine how the officer in the video would feel if that had been a kid on a bike....Sure, the kid would have probably been at fault, but how do you live with something like that???

I've hit two deer with my patrol car in the last 11 years. One was a clip shot on the right front the other dead on. The funny thing is the second one I saw on the side of the road and hit my air horn to shoo it away. It ran right in the middle of the road and stopped. On a side note I caught a bird between my roof and led light bar last week as it tried to fly across the road
