Default Oil question

My DIC tells me I have 75% oil life left. I changed the oil in Jan of 08....Think I should I change it this Jan like I have been? or go another year?

I accept your challenge
I do not use it as a DD because I park in a public lot and take the bus....why have it sit in the weather right? So weekends down the shore unless I need the Blazer to carry crap. I know I am actually using it more then when I got it, now it does see.....rain and it is actually in garage......dirty !
And I will change it in Jan....I don't store it because believe it or not I use it in the winter when the days are clear cold and no slop on the streets.

Take a sample of your oil and have it analyzed. If it needs changing, that will be the definitive evidence...

They are meant to be driven,,,,I bought this one in late January (with a new oil change) ran it down to below 10% changes the oil and am down to 65% already!1 Only 1- 1,100 mi.trip and 1- 200 mi trip,,all the rest is local driving (over 8,000 mi so far) I just love driving this car. I drive it for every errand or whatever, that I don't need my truck for!!

Change it once a year as you have been doing or when your DIC goes down to 0.....(Oh my God, what did I just say?)

I'm going to go against the grain on this one-If you get it warmed up good every couple of weeks, I would go until 50% on the DIC. The amount you (and I) drive our Corvettes will never in our lifetimes wear out an engine with Mobil1, even changing every other year or 4000 miles.

Change oil once a year if you are a low miler. It's stated in the owners manual for those of you who never seem to read it.

Best to do it when it's put away for the winter if that's the case. By the way the owners manual has full instructions on storing your vette. Chevy seems to understand that some owners like to look at them more than drive them. That's why I just turned 15K on my 02.

I don't think 2 years is too long to go before changing the oil if there's still a high % (meaning over 65-75%) remaining on the OLM at the end of 1 year. I wouldn't go more than 2 years however, and probably change the filter at the 1 year mark just to have a fresh filter on doing its job for the second year. I think the 1 year requirement is overblown when the OLM says otherwise.
