Headlight allignment
PM your email address and I'll send you the write up from the service manual.

I'd make absolutely sure they're seated first. If you still need to align them I posted this a while ago that may helpAiming Stock Headlights
Preparation
Chose a white wall to project the lights onto
Mark a vertical centreline on the screen in line with the center of the car (black tape?)
(look over the roof of the car to get the line)
Measure the height from the floor to the center of the headlight capsule
Mark a horizontal aiming line on the screen
Measure the distance between the centreline of the right headlight module and the center of the left headlight module.
Position the vertical tapes this distance to the right and left of the screen centreline
Lubricate the adjustment screws before adjusting
Adjustments
Raise the hood
Raise the headlights
Remove the headlamp adjustment screw plug
Turn on the low beam headlights and block the light from projecting onto the screen from the passenger headlight

Check the horizontal aim
Adjust the horizontal aim adjusting screw to align the left edge of the high intensity zone with the headlight vertical centreline
The left edge of the beam should lie within 4” to the left and 4” to the right
of the vertical centreline.
Check the vertical aim
Adjust the vertical aim adjusting screw to align the top edge of the high intensity zone with the headlight horizontal centreline
The left edge of the beam should lie within 2” above and 2.5” below the lamp horizontal centreline.
Reinstall the headlamp adjustment screw plug
Repeat for the other headlight
Turn off the lights and close the hood
This is the pattern you're looking for

The headlight adjustment screws are actually two long soft metal rods.
They snap and/or stip VERY easily as many unfortunate members (self included have learned)
A T-15 torx fits inside the head and a small 6 point socket can be used around the outside.
LUBRICATE WELL before your try the adjustment as MOST seize. When you apply torque.. the rod breaks or strips.
If it strips or breaks your options are very limited.
Unless you can find a replacement "GoldenRod" (see link below) and disasssemble and rebuild youself.. your option is a $450+( for the part) headlight assembly replacement.
I lubed mine for a month with power blaster and it still stripped. I suspect it was damaged by the previous owner.
Here is the link to Junkman's post on how to rpelace the Golden rod... the first picture shows the intact rod and its gear like end( it will show you what you are looking for...

Good Luck...
I too am having difficulties aligning my C5 Z06 headlights. I changed from standard to high intensity bulbs and the alignment is certainly not right. I checked to see if they were properly seated and note that they are. I am the second owner of the C5 and the previous owner or serviceman must have have had difficulty with one of the adjusters because its broken off at the base. The other headlight has the long adjuster, but I can seem to move it with my fingers and I'm reluctant to use a rachet for fear it will end up list the other one. I would appreciate any information you can provide as well as information regarding replacing the broken and its inoperable counterpart.
Many thanks in advance.
