Default Black Out Tailight Question

I'm considering having my tailights and reverse lights blacked out. After doing some research I like the process that Corvette Enhancements uses. I do drive the car to shows and around town. Are you able to see the brake and turn signal lights?

Also I haver never had either of the lenses out. I assume you just remove the screws. Any input would be appreciated.

It does darken them somewhat ,but they are visible at night for sure.

I just did mine last week.

I feel like there might be a little bit TOO much black. I paid 45 bucks + shipping for my blackout set on eBay. It's literally just 7 pieces of smoked black acrylic plastic. The 4 circle lights come with 2 holes drilled on each side and you simply unbolt the hex screws and pop on the black covers and re-tighten.

The thing that I'm not impressed with is that these are not 'form fitting', meaning that they're not curved. They're just flat. So you don't want to over tighten them or you'll get reflex/refraction from looking at them from the side. (The reflections will be all distorted).

As for the other 3 pieces, the reverse light and 3rd brake have clear, double sided adhesive on them so you just peel and stick them on.

I washed the areas with fantastic to get any dirt/grease out so the plastics don't rub and scratch the lenses should I want to remove them later.

What do you guys think? I wanted to put black Corvette letters in too, but at this point I feel if I put any more black on the back it's going to look over done and gaudy.

Corvette enhancements offers 2 levels of blackout: Smoked, and full blackout. I reccomend using Halo tails and adjure reverse lights if you go blackout

I have smoked reverse lights and full blackout everything else....of course i tinked with them a bit:

Customized LED Halo tails:

true HID reverse lights:
