it's crappy color...... They blew is on the 40th even worse. But hey, some like that stuff.
actually its an awesome color with great depth....sorry you don't like it, to each his own....but it is amazing how many vette owners blow off being friendly to 50th anniversary owners? Don't get it! It's just a vette and I never downplay any one elses vette
I`ll be dang, until JUST NOW TODAY, I always thought the wheels were made from magnesium, just looked at the 50Th Registry, they ARE aluminum. HHHHuuuuhhh, live and let learn.... Thanks!
magnesium wheels were only available for a few years... and I seem to remember the last year for them was 2001 ???
I love the magnesium wheels. I know they were offered in 2003, so I checked out the blackbook and they were indeed offered through the 2004 run.
Here's whats odd, they started in 1998 as a $3,000 option, same price in 1999. Then in 2000 and 2001 they were @ $2,000. 2002 and 2003 were $1500 and in 2004 the Magnesium wheel option was only $995.00.
They must have had a surplus in the later years

The opening post asked what made the Anniversry Red different from other '03s. It is the most common color on all '03s by a 2 to 1 margin. The $5000 1SC option package was ordered on 33% of all '03s. Of the 35,469 units built, 11,632 are Anniversary Red. 7,547 are Verts, and 4,085 are Coupes. The next most popular colors in '03 is black at 16% and Torch Red at 15%. The color - official Dupont name - "Anniversary Red Pearl Metallic ( Tintcoat ), RPO 94U, is brilliant in the sunlight due to the use of Xirallic paint technology, which uses flat aluminum oxide flakes to give depth and sparkle to the color. In daylight, the car literally glows like the subtlest of Candy Apple Reds. One last distinction: the F55 suspension was a new Delphi shock absorber in '03 that uses a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid to vary shock response according to magnetic input. This was standard on the 1SC, a stand alone option on all other non Z06 units. Only an additional 3,360 non A/E Red '03 units had the F55 suspension.
