[Z06] Top rad hose

Default Top rad hose
The top rad hose on my 02 Z has collapsed from the bend out of rad to the engine. Car has 18,000 miles on it, hose is in excellent shape. What could cause this?

take the cap off the coolant res. and watch it uncollapse....or start the engine and let it warm up it'll uncollapse

You may need a new coolant reservoir cap. If it is not relieving the vacuum created when the engine cools, it will collapse the hoses.

The cap has to work both ways, to keep the radiator from over pressuring, and prevent a vacuum.
