on a 2001 is it normal to hear the fuel injectors in the car. I can hear them clicking if the radio is off in the car.
Also I started the car yesterday morning and heard what sounded like a rattle when I started it. (kind of like the old Ford rattle on some trucks when they had a little wear on them) After idle for a couple of minutes I drove it all day with no sign of any other rattle. Any idea???? The rattle was only for about 3-4 seconds right after start. The oil has just been changed and is full.
Thanks in advance for the feed back.
the rattle that soon went away is most likely piston slap. LS motors are infamous for this condition, corrected in later assemblies. nothing to worry about until it persists after the engine has reach operating temps.
Very common in the early LS engines. My 2000 clicks away when I first start it and after it warms up a bit quiets down to a acceptable level. It's done it since I bought it ( 38,000 miles) and hasn't changed in the past 30,000 miles.

I've heard a lot of people talk about piston-slap when starting a cold engine and my concern for those is that they are mis-interpretting the sound. If its a tapping sound that goes away anywhere from a few seconds to a minute and the tapping sounds are up high, then its the lifters.
The lifters do wear out over time, usually over 200K miles. If its the lifters, it'll probably start out with a few seconds of tapping and slowly get worse, taking longer and longer for the tapping to go away.
